Kick-off to the 2nd half time

Dear Mummy, I am sorry but you need to learn English now! No, I don’t have a girlfriend over here; it´s just about some weird friends who complained my Blog is in German. So I promised my next Blog entry will be in English. And also I have to enforce our little cousin a bit to practice I think, because she just failed in English class last school year! Sorry Vicky ;-)

So what to tell since my last entry..? Time is passing fast and half way of my stay here is already over. Half time was around my birthday which I certainly celebrated with my friends here in a nice pub on campus. Thanks for this great evening my friends btw! Regarding half time… I finally started to play soccer with the MIT-grad team and really enjoy the excellent conditions here at MIT. Several fields with finest artificial and natural lawn right next to a brilliant gymnastic center are real professional conditions and so it happened that AS Roma was practicing on “our” field for two days on their US-tour before playing a friendly match against Liverpool FC in the good old Fenway park (which is actually a Baseball stadium).

Although there is a nice Island in the Boston harbor called “Spectacle Island”, which we visited the weekend after July 4th, the most spectacular weekend since then was probably the one going to the White Mountains National Forest in New Hampshire with the MIT-outing club. MIT owns two cozy cabins up there in the wilderness and also the gear-rent is more less for free, in case you need a sleeping bag, tent or skis in the winter. Seriously, you can go skiing up there. And even though you will not be able to find vast skiing resorts like in Austria, Bode Miller grew up there and is regularly kicking some Austrian asses in FIS races.

As it seems I also found a new housing for the rest of my stay beyond August 15th. I am really glad and hope everything will work out well. At least the location is excellent and about everything else I will let you know in my next entry. Beside this concern, I really enjoy the summer here and doing great I would say! A big thanks in honor to those who are making this summer so special as this is the first entry you can literally follow and best greetings to the rest of you at home and elsewhere in the world! I hope most of you are still able to read my blog and not only the pictures below.

cu Clemens :-)

Sry, I am just not getting tired to post pics like this...

...but listening to a guitar concert from Ben in front of this skyline on the river is just fantastic ;-)

Going out with some of the guys you can blame for the English text ;-)

Since they are kicking you out of the club here at 2am,
afterparties are almost as popular as pregaming.

What leads to an awesome view like this - sunrise over Boston seen from top floor at Tang Hall.
And Ben, you can see Venus here! ;-)

AS Roma practicing on our field.

Off to the Boston Harbor Islands...

...with some other Italians. Luca, Camilla and Marina :-)
and the Boston Skyline in the background.

Finally we made it to the White Mountains in New Hampshire...

...which are part of the Appalachian Moutains ranging all the way from Maine to Georgia.

Lunch break on the first hiking day...

...at a beautiful scenic point...

...perfect for a quick group picture...

...and another one...

...before it started to rain.

Ready for the second hiking trip on Sunday...

...to the bolder up there on the top left.

Ok, we were really a bit suffering from the long bonfire session the night before, but the hike was truly longer than you may suppose from the picture above ;-)

What is he pondering about...?

...may he just wanna fly out there.

No, sry. I already stop being philosophic...

...although it is almost as beautiful here as in Austria ;-)

Mystic panorama view before the rain was coming.

Panorama view down to the valley from the Boulder on the second day.

And a last one to end this Blog session.
